Liveblog plugin for WordPress introduced by Automattic

automattic liveblog wordpress pluginAutomattic – the company behind WordPress, hosting, Jetpack plugin etc. has recently launched the new plugin named Liveblog. This free plugin allows WordPress users to turn any post into a liveblog just by checking the box. The process is hassle free and easy, all you have to do is install the plugin Liveblog.

After installing the plugin authors will be able to post updates directly from the front-end of their site and the can also drag and drop photos. Readers or followers will be able to view new updates instantly without having to refresh the page.

Previously WordPress users had to use 3rd party service for live blog feature. Though live blog is not for everyone and everyday’s use it will be useful when you are covering some events like product lunch, sports event, speech etc.

From Automattic:

Your readers want your updates as quickly as possible, and we think we provide the easiest and the most flexible publishing environment to make that happen. Sometimes though, that’s just not enough.

When you’re covering a fast-paced event — the latest Apple unveiling, an F1 Grand Prix, or the Super Bowl — a full blog post for each individual update is a poor experience for your authors and your audience.
