Using a 301 redirect on the “non-www” version of the URL, which is essentially a “permanent” redirect in server talk, you can effectively consolidate all of your link popularity to a single URL. This consolidation will serve to increase your website’s chances of obtaining and maintaining top rankings.

How To 301 Redirect?

If you are enabling 301 Redirect in apache server, add the follow code into file named “.htaccess” . (If this is not present , you can make .htaccess and add code.)

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.example.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Do not forget to replace example.com with your domain. Following code will redirect http://example.com to http://www.example.com . This is must do step for SEO .
