Android is today’s most popular operating system used in smart phones and in tablet PC. Android operating system is the open source mobile OS build by Google and is based on linux kernel. PC cannot directly run Android apps and most of the time there is alternative available. But if you are a developer then you may want to test it in your computer as well as in Android mobile itself. We can’t directly run android apps on PC for this we need additional program installed. In this post we have listed some cleaver ways to run android applications on PC or computer.
BlueStack is a new free application for Windows based operating system that enables you to run Android apps with ease. The basic player lets you run several pre-loaded apps, install up to 26 others, or sync apps from an Android phone to your PC. Vist the official download page of Bluestacks to download the software.
The apps launch in a full-screen virtual version of the Android operating system, so they run smoothly. Since android apps are designed to be used with touch screen, you may find it difficult to use it using mouse and keyboard. Using a laptop with a multitouch pad was definitely an improvement. Overall, the integration with Windows via a simple desktop gadget proved to be clean and seamless. The developers of Bluestack are working on Mac version as well.
The other option to run Android apps on computer is by installing Androud in Virtual environment using softwares like VMWare / virtual PC or using SDK provided by Google itself. But I find Bluestack easy to use than other options available.
